Earn your bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the University of Regina, where you can choose from one of five concentrations. This program integrates international and regional area studies, allowing students to explore the global processes and structures that connect and affect countries around the world. Program Structure

The Bachelor of Arts in International Studies program at the University of Regina is designed to be completed in four years. The program offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes:

Two concentrations: International Affairs and International Development.
Access to co-op and internship placements through the Co-operative Education & Internships program.
Study abroad opportunities in various countries, including Spain, China, South Korea, and Italy.

This program is offered through the University of Regina, Campion College, First Nations University of Canada, and Luther College, ensuring a diverse educational experience. Students can also earn an International Studies Certificate by completing 10 courses (30 credit hours), which includes core courses and additional courses from their chosen concentration.

Academic Requirements

To apply for the Bachelor of Arts - International Studies (Optional Co-op) program at the University of Regina, international students must meet the following Academic Requirements:

Minimum GPA: 70%
Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.
Prerequisite courses:
- One year 12 english or language literature course
- Two year 12 courses in the areas of science, english languge art, language, mathematics, or social studies
- One addittional year 12 course
International students, including those from Vietnam and other Asian countries, are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

English Language Proficiency Requirements

The language of instruction for most programs at the University of Regina is English. Most applicants to the University of Regina must, therefore, demonstrate an appropriate level of proficiency in English.

The following will be accepted as satisfactory evidence of ELP:

English Language Proficiency List by Country: You may meet the English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirement for admission through the main language of instruction of education obtained in your home country.
English as a Second Language: Successful completion of the English for Academic Purposes courses EAP 100 and EAP 101 or a minimum placement level of 55 (overall average of 65 or higher) on the EAP placement exam.
Post-Secondary Studies: Successful completion of at least 24 credit hours from a post-secondary institution where English was the main medium of instruction, including at least 6 credit hours in humanities or social science subjects, with a minimum GPA of 60.00%.
Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate English: Advanced Placement English (grade of 3 or better) or International Baccalaureate Higher English (grade of 4 or better).
Internationally Recognized Standards: GCSE/IGCSE/GCE O' Level English with a minimum grade of '6' or GCE A/AS/AICE Level English with a minimum grade of 'C'.
English Proficiency Test: One of the following tests will also be accepted:
- TOEFL: Internet Based: Overall 83; Reading: 20; Listening: 20; Speaking: 20; Writing: 20.
- IELTS: Overall Band score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0.
- Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Overall score of 59, no area with less than 59.
- CAEL: Minimum score of 60.
- MET: Minimum score of 85.
- CELT: Minimum score of 60.
- Duolingo online English test: Overall score: 120 (specific subscores apply).
- Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)/C1: Overall score of 180.
- Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)/C2: Overall score of 180.
High School Studies: For students from countries on the English Language Proficiency List by Country: successful completion of at least three years of formal, full-time study in English at a recognized secondary school where English is the primary language of instruction.
