Program overview

The Master of Applied Cybersecurity (MACSec) at the University of New Brunswick is designed to address the growing demand for cybersecurity professionals. With an alarming shortage of 3.5 million cybersecurity positions worldwide, this program aims to equip students with the necessary skills to combat the increasing threat of cyber-attacks, projected to cost the global economy $10.5 trillion by 2025. The program leverages over 20 years of innovation and talent development from the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity (CIC) and the Faculty of Computer Science, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to enter the cybersecurity workforce.

Program structure

The Master of Applied Cybersecurity program is structured to be completed in one year, divided into three semesters: Fall, Winter, and Summer. This intensive program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.

The program includes:
