Program Overview
Learn how to shape a more sustainable, food-secure future with the Sustainable Agriculture and Environment program at UBC's Vancouver campus. This program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to produce food while protecting our soils, water, and air. Students will explore how to manage biodiversity and habitat for the organisms that help us grow food, as well as how to cultivate food in urban environments. The program prepares graduates for a professional career focused on sustainability and food security.
Program Structure
The Bachelor of Science in Applied Biology - Sustainable Agriculture and Environment program is structured to provide a comprehensive education over a period of 4 years. The program includes:
- Co-op Option: Students can combine their studies with full-time, paid work at top local and international organizations.
- Honours Option: Students have the opportunity to pursue intense specialization in a single field.
- Experiential Learning: Opportunities for hands-on experience at the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems at UBC Farm, rooftop gardens, and community gardens.
