Program Overview

Our Chemical Laboratory Technology program is designed for those passionate about the chemical sciences and eager to engage in hands-on experimentation and practical applications. Throughout the program, students will master essential chemical laboratory techniques and gain expertise in using advanced analytical instrumentation to analyze various laboratory samples. The curriculum emphasizes comprehensive knowledge of chemical substances, their properties, reactions, and safety protocols. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a 12-month paid work placement, providing invaluable real-world experience and networking opportunities in the field.

Program Structure

The Chemical Laboratory Technology program spans a total of 2 years, with two semesters each year. Students can opt for an additional 12-month co-op work term after their second semester, extending the program to three years. The program is delivered in-person at the Main Campus and includes:

  • Hands-on laboratory training with cutting-edge analytical instruments.
  • Comprehensive coursework covering chemical substances, properties, and safety protocols.
  • Opportunities for practical experience through a work placement.

This program is nationally accredited by Technology Accreditation Canada (TAC), ensuring that graduates meet industry standards and are well-prepared for their careers in various sectors.
