Program overview

The General Arts and Sciences Certificate at Northern Lights College (NLC) is designed to provide students with university-level learning opportunities that reflect the diverse intellectual and creative inquiries found in the arts and sciences. This program allows learners to explore a wide range of first and second-year courses, enabling them to pursue various credential and career options while also engaging in personal enrichment. Upon successful completion of the program, students are awarded a certificate, which can serve as a stepping stone for further university studies leading to a Bachelor’s Degree.

Program structure

The General Arts and Sciences Certificate program is structured to be completed in a minimum of one year, typically taken over two semesters. Students are required to complete a total of 30 credits, which translates to approximately 450 hours of coursework. The program offers both full-time and part-time study options across various locations, including:

Students can start the program in the Fall, Winter, or Spring semesters. The program is designed to allow flexibility, accommodating both full-time and part-time students.
