Program Overview

Early childhood educators play an essential role in shaping children's lifelong views of learning. In the Early Childhood Education program, students learn to nurture children from birth to age twelve through activities and play that foster intellectual, physical, and emotional growth. This program emphasizes the importance of outdoor play and integrates it into the curriculum, promoting holistic development and nurturing relationships with children, families, and communities.

Students will acquire skills in designing, applying, and evaluating educational programs, along with knowledge in child guidance, language development, health and safety, and inclusiveness. The program follows a constructivist and developmental approach, providing experiential learning opportunities through NBCC's innovative Living Classroom and a practicum in the first year, allowing students to gain real-world experience in the early learning and childcare sector.
