Aviation is an interdisciplinary degree program that combines professional flight training with undergraduate studies in Arts, Commerce, or Science. Offered at Mount Allison University, this program is one of the few in Canada that allows students to earn an undergraduate degree while incorporating both flight and ground school training. The Aviation program is delivered in partnership with MFC Training, a leading flight training establishment in North America, ensuring students receive high-quality education and training.

Program structure

The Aviation program at Mount Allison is structured to provide a comprehensive educational experience over a four-year period. Students must complete their first year at Mount Allison before beginning flight training. The program includes:

Completion of introductory courses in Arts, Commerce, or Science during the first year.
Flight training begins after achieving second-year standing, which requires earning a minimum of 24 credits.
Students must obtain a Transport Canada Category 1 medical certificate and pass a formal English language proficiency test.
Ongoing coursework includes three courses per term on campus alongside ground school training.
Students will complete over 200 hours of flying and receive extensive ground training.

Upon graduation, students will earn a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Science, or Bachelor of Arts degree, along with a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), a multi-engine class rating, and a Group 1 instrument rating. Additionally, students may qualify to write the Airline Transport Pilot Licence exam.

Academic Requirements

Mount Allison University has a unique admissions process that considers the whole person, taking into account accomplishments both inside and outside the classroom. The requirements for admission can vary based on the degree you are applying for, your level of education completed, and your country of residence.

For international students, the following requirements are essential:

Official transcripts: To be considered 'official,' transcripts must be forwarded directly to Mount Allison's registrar's office by the issuing institution. Please note that notarized English translations of required documents should be included if applicable.
Regular admission: To be considered for admission, a minimum final grade of 65% or the equivalent is required in all university-preparatory courses reviewed.
Early admission: Applicants may be considered for early admission based on their final grade 11 transcripts. A minimum admissions average of 80% is required for consideration.

Bằng Tốt Nghiệp Trung Học Phổ Thông (Secondary School Graduation Certificate)
Minimum score of 6 in five courses Score of 6 in English Bachelor of Science:
Score of 6 in math and in one science (biology, chemistry, or physics)
An accepted proof of English proficiency

If you meet Mount Allison's academic requirements, but can't provide proof of English proficiency, you may be offered conditional admission.
