Network Systems Administrator Advanced Certificate

Academic Requirements

To apply for the Network and Systems Administrator Advanced Certificate program, applicants must meet the following entrance requirements:

• A Manitoba high school diploma (or expected completion within 45 days of the program start date), or equivalent.
• A minimum average of 70% over the following courses, with no less than 60% in each course:
  • Mathematics 40S
  • English Language Arts 40S
  • A third 40S academic course
• A minimum score of 55% on the Technology Programs Aptitude Test (TPAT). Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

For international students, additional requirements include:

• Meeting the general entrance requirements based on the country or curriculum of study.
• Demonstrating English Language Proficiency.

It is also strongly recommended that students possess basic computer skills such as:

• Email
• Web searches
• Word processing
• Spreadsheets
• Presentation software

Language Requirements

To apply for the Network and Systems Administrator Advanced Certificate program at MITT, applicants must demonstrate English Language Proficiency. This is essential for ensuring that students can fully engage in their studies and succeed in the program.

Proficiency in English can be demonstrated through one of the following accepted methods:

• Writing an accepted English language proficiency test, or successfully completing an approved English language training program.
• Completing the required level of MITT’s English Language Institute’s (ELI) English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program.
• Meeting one of the identified English Language Proficiency waiver criteria.
• Completing the required level at an English Language training program with one of MITT’s Pathway Partners.

The following English language tests are accepted, along with their minimum score requirements for Category A programs:

• CAEL CE & CAEL Online: 60
• Cambridge C1 Advanced: Scale Score of 180 / Grade of C
• Duolingo English Test: Minimum overall score of 110
• IELTS (Academic): 6.0 overall, no band less than 5.5
• PTE Academic: 54
• TOEFL iBT/iBT Home Edition: Overall score of 78, with no less than 17 in each component

It is important to note that official test results must be forwarded directly from the test center to the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology. Additionally, tests taken more than 2 years prior to the anticipated start date of the program will not be considered.
