The Esthetician – Spa Management program at Georgian College is designed to equip students with the essential practical skills, business training, and professional competencies needed to thrive in the expanding field of esthetics. This program offers a holistic approach to spa modalities, covering specialized skin, body, and hand/foot treatments, as well as corrective makeup techniques and nutritional concepts for skin and body health. With over 240 hours of hands-on experience in Georgian’s Spa clinic, students will develop the professional ethics and skills necessary to run a small business in the health and wellness industry. Graduates will emerge with a passion for health and wellness, along with the technical and management skills required for a successful career in esthetics.

The program is delivered in a full-time, in-person format, ensuring that students receive hands-on training and direct interaction with instructors and peers. Academic Requirements

The admission requirements for the Esthetician – Spa Management program at Georgian College are as follows:

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, mature student status.
Grade 12 English (C or U).
Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older), and home school applicants may also be considered for admission. Eligibility may be met by applicants who have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED, and equivalency testing.

It is required that students have Standard First Aid prior to participating in the Spa Clinic. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that the permit status is valid for the duration of their time in the program.

During lab and clinics, students are not permitted to wear jewelry and must adhere to the professional decorum policy as described in the student handbook. Students are required to purchase uniforms, a student kit containing implements to be used during the course of the program, and a makeup kit.

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

Language Requirements

The language of instruction at Georgian College is English. All applicants for whom English is not their first language and/or are coming from countries where English is not an official language must provide proof of language proficiency.

Applicants must meet ONE of the following criteria to meet Georgian’s language proficiency requirements:

Must have completed three full years of study at the secondary school (high school) level in English in a country where English is a primary language.
Must have completed one full year of study in an accredited postsecondary program in English in a country where English is a primary language.
Must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or Canadian provincial equivalent) and English credit (Grade 12 U, M or C) issued by a public or Catholic school board.
Provide proof of graduation from one of the authorized Georgian College partner school pathway programs.
Must have completed two years of study at a secondary private school in Ontario and received an Ontario Secondary School Diploma and English credit (Grade 12 U, M or C).
