Academic Requirements

To apply for the Collaborative Nursing program at Fanshawe College, applicants must meet the following Academic Requirements:

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, with a minimum grade of 70% in each of the following courses:
- Grade 12 English (U)
- Grade 12 Biology (U)
- Grade 12 Chemistry (U)
- Grade 11 Functions (U) OR Grade 11 Functions and Applications (M) - Minimum grade of 70% required
- Three additional Grade 12 University (U) courses
Supplemental Material Required: Computer-Based Assessment for Sampling Personal Characteristics Test (CASPer). Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

For students not currently in high school, the following pathways to admission are available:

Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees
General Arts and Science Ontario College Certificate
Other post-secondary graduates
Mature Students

Applicants from the Pre-Health Sciences Pathway must achieve a minimum GPA of 2.5 and a minimum of 70% in specific courses, including:

COMM-3050
BIOL-1003 and BIOL-1008
CHEM-1004 and CHEM-1006
MATH-1024 or MATH-1028

For applicants from other post-secondary programs, a minimum GPA of 2.5 in an acceptable completed program is required, along with the prerequisite courses listed above with a minimum grade of 70%.

Notes:

CASPer is a mandatory requirement for all applicants regardless of education background, with no exceptions.
This is a highly competitive program, and applicants should strive to achieve an overall average in the low 90s (if in high school) and high 80s (if in post-secondary).

Language Requirements

For the Collaborative Nursing program, the following English language proficiency tests are accepted:

TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 92 (with at least 22 in writing, 26 in speaking, 20 in reading, and 20 in listening)
IELTS Academic: Overall score of 7.0 with no score less than 6.5 in reading and listening, and a score of 7.0 in writing and speaking
Duolingo: Overall score of 135 with a minimum of 130 in Literacy and no other subscores below 125
