Academic Requirements

The Master of Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics program at Cape Breton University has specific academic requirements for both Canadian and international students. Below are the details:

General Requirements:

Four (4) year undergraduate degree (or equivalent) from a recognized or accredited university in one of the following fields:
- Science
- Mathematics
- Computer Science
- Business
- Economics
- Engineering
Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (73-76%) or B in the final 60 credits of study.
Successful completion of a statistics course with at least 70% final grade.
Applicants who do not meet standard academic criteria may be considered for admission based on GMAT scores and/or professional experience, as outlined on a CV.

For international students, the requirements are the same as those for Canadian students:

Please arrange to have test results sent to Cape Breton University from one of the following agencies or upload your official results to your CBU Future Student account:

TOEFL iBT (and iBT Home Edition): minimum overall score of 80 with no score below 20.
IELTS Academic (and IELTS Indicator): minimum overall score of 6.5 with no band below 6.0.
CAEL: minimum score of 60.
MELAB: minimum score of 85.
Pearson PTE (Academic): minimum overall score of 59 with no score below 50.
Duolingo English Test: minimum score of 125 with no score below 110 for Master of Business Administration.

Official test scores should be included with your application or sent to InternationalAdmissions@cbu.ca directly from the testing language body.
