Program Overview

The Accounting and Finance, Advanced Certificate program at Camosun College is designed to prepare students for a challenging and rewarding career in accounting and finance. This program is suitable for those looking to enter the workforce at an entry or intermediate level, with the added opportunity for further study at the degree and professional designation level. Students will gain essential skills in financial accounting, management accounting, and finance, equipping them to work in various business or government roles.

Program Structure

The Accounting and Finance, Advanced Certificate program is structured to provide a comprehensive education over a period of 2 years full-time. The program includes:

  • 20 courses delivered in a face-to-face format.
  • Classes held predominantly at the Interurban campus, with options for both evening and daytime classes.
  • Flexible study options, allowing students to choose between full-time and part-time enrollment.
  • Co-operative Education option, enabling students to gain practical work experience while studying.

This program is open to international students, providing them with the opportunity to participate in co-operative education and legally work in Canada during specified work terms. Students must complete eight courses with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and the Career Development-Workplace Preparation Skills course before starting their co-op work term.
