Program Overview

The ESL Level 4-5 (University Preparation) program at Vancouver Island University (VIU) is designed to help students achieve a high level of English proficiency necessary for academic success in Canadian post-secondary institutions. This program focuses on enhancing students' academic reading, writing, and literature skills, ensuring they are well-prepared for further studies. Upon successful completion of Level 5, students can bypass additional English testing and gain direct entry into any program at VIU. Program Structure

The ESL Level 4-5 program is structured to provide comprehensive language training over a period of 14 weeks for each level. The program consists of the following key components:

  • Weekly Class Hours: 20 hours per week
