Master of Natural Resources Management (course-based)

Academic Requirements

For the Master of Natural Resources Management program at Lakehead University, applicants must meet the following Academic Requirements:

• Graduates of a recognized university, college, or institute are eligible to apply.
• Applicants must show evidence of scholarly achievement.
• A four-year bachelor's degree or its equivalent is required, with at least second class standing (B) based on the last 20 half courses or equivalent.
• For applicants from countries that follow a British-patterned grading system, a minimum grade of B, or Second Class, Upper Division, is required.
• Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.
• Applicants holding a degree in an allied discipline (e.g., Biology, Geography, Agriculture, Environmental Studies, Resource Management, Outdoor Recreation) may be required to take up to two full-course equivalents at the undergraduate level.
• If an applicant has an inadequate academic background, they may be invited to take four full-course equivalents in forestry at the undergraduate level. If they achieve an average of B or better, they may then apply for admission to the graduate program.

Language Requirements

Lakehead University accepts the following as proof of English language proficiency:

• Successful completion of one of the below language tests with the required minimum scores
• Successful completion of Lakehead University’s Academic English Program
• Successful completion of one of our approved Pathway Partner’s ESL programs
• Successful completion of Senior Level English courses
